Last updated: 2026
This is a general starting template, not legal advice. Have it reviewed by a qualified lawyer for your jurisdiction before relying on it as your published Privacy Policy.
1. Introduction
Digi Smart Scan ("the Service", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information We Collect
Account information: your name and email address when you register or sign in with Google. Content: the documents, images, and files you upload, scan, or create within the Service. Usage data: device type, browser, and interactions with the Service used to keep it running and improving it.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide and operate the Service, to authenticate you, to store and process the documents you create, to send you transactional messages (such as receipts and security alerts), to prevent abuse, and to comply with legal obligations.
4. Authentication via Google
When you choose to sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information (such as your name, email address, and profile picture) to create and identify your account. We do not post on your behalf or access your Google data beyond what is needed for sign-in. The Google sign-in process is governed by Google's own privacy policy as well.
5. Your Content
You retain ownership of the documents, images, and files you upload or create ("Your Content"). We store and process Your Content only as needed to provide the Service back to you and to anyone you explicitly share it with, such as workspace collaborators or via a share link. We do not sell Your Content.
6. Sharing of Your Information
We share information only in limited ways: with service providers who help us operate the Service (such as hosting and email delivery) under appropriate obligations, when you share a document with another user, to comply with legal obligations, or to protect the rights and safety of the Service and its users.
7. Third-Party Integrations
If you enable an integration such as Google Drive backup, you authorize us to interact with that service on your behalf. Data handled through such integrations is also subject to the third party's own privacy practices.
8. Data Retention
We keep your account information and Your Content for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated content at any time, and we will remove it within a reasonable period, subject to legal retention requirements.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls scoped to your account. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your Privacy Choices
Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to restrict or object to certain processing. You can exercise many of these options directly within the Service, or by contacting us through the Contact Us page.
11. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
12. International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own. By using the Service you consent to such transfers in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the Service or by other reasonable means. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
